With the partial government shutdown in the US over funding for the wall, the pulling out of US troops in Syria, the on-going Russian probe, and the many tweets from President Trump that determine foreign policy, it's easy to forget there might be other issues at play in the Middle East, especially concerning Iran.
After living in the Middle East for some years I was not best aligned with Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. When I interviewed people and companies, I found the Iranians a pleasure to speak to, well-educated, and much easier to work with than some others in the region.
Since being back in New Zealand, I've met many others who've travelled around Iran and loved it, especially the people. And at university, the Iranian students in New Zealand were lovely.
So I was sad to read this from NIAC Action in the US- Advancing People and the Iranian-American Community- where the nightmare scenario the Iranians in the US have been dreading is coming true- that the US is likely to bomb Iran, killing many innocent people.
Here is what NIAC says:
